Otjiterazu offers you the opportunity to ride through the bush on a Quad Bike, a
n exciting experience,
as you get close to
the game. We can also arrange a 4x4 Game drive or you may want
to hike along our mountain trail and enjoy the beauty of nature,
offering you the opportunity of spotting Kudus and other game
species. Especially bird lovers will
enjoy this hike.
Otherwise, just relax at the pool in the beautiful park
scenery garden, surrounded by birds like ostrich and parrots. For the sports enthusiast a game
of
golf or jukskei can be played on our farm course.
Hobby photographer’s and nature
lovers, will find it interesting to sit in a hide and study the game
species,
Francolin and Guinea foul at the water holes
or listen to the call of
the jackal while watching the colorful African sunsets.
What about a shopping trip to
Windhoek? We will gladly take you to the capital of our beautiful
country. There are numerous museums, landmarks and historical places
to visit. Curios and other memorabilia are available at a
large selection of stores and shops.
The Von Bach Recreation Resort is
situated a few kilometers from Okahandja. The dam itself is located on
the outskirts of the Auas mountains and belongs to the Swakop River drainage system. The construction of the dam
started in 1968 and it was commissioned on
1970. It is the main water source for Windhoek. The
following fish species can be found in the dam: blue carper, small-mouth yellowfish,
carp, barbel, large-mouth bass. Angling permits can be obtained
from the resort's office.
Gross Barmen Hot Springs
Resort is also
just a few kilometers from
Okahandja. A hot water
spring indoor swimming pool, as well as a cooler outdoor swimming pool
are
available. There is also a restaurant serving delicious meals. The main
attraction at Gross Barmen is the strong mineral spring with its
revitalizing and health-giving water. The huge
glass-enclosed thermal hall houses a communal thermal bath with
massage jets, a sunken bath with a waterfall, reclining chairs
for rest and relaxation and a refreshment kiosk. All this makes the popular
tourist attraction a worthwhile visit.
The Kaisosi River Lodge
We can arrange a fly-in trip to our
Kaisosi River Lodge on the banks of the Okavango River. This lodge is famous
for it’s beautiful sunsets and great Tiger Fish fishing, as well as the
occasional visit from a Hippo or two. It’s a true African Oasis.
